Primary designer and site owner Jim Morvay has 16 years of technical drawing experience combined with a lifelong following of the Star Trek genre of Sci-Fi. The constant fascination with the design aspect of the films and TV shows spawned the desire to form the design business with respect to creating high quality blueprints of Star Trek starships. The mindset to it all is to provide as much information as possible when it comes to design and function, which seems to be lacking with a lot of current blueprint sets of ships. In this age of 3D, it is the philosophy of Astristech to provide the observer with a “complete” picture while not having to resort to further rendering and what some would call “eye candy”. Although beautiful as it may be to produce a 3D model, the interiors and arrangement of elements can be detailed just as well in a 2D environment, just as it’s been for many years.
